Today's learning

Today I learned about an app called ExplainEverything. I could see the potential in this program but I really need a lot more time to explore the app. I was able to explore the writing tools and insert a picture. I also started to record myself but haven't had the chance to look at the recording tools properly to see why I couldn't hear what I had recorded. Here is my attempted version of the task we had to complete today...

During our Create session, I was trying to do a screencast for my learners on how to create a polyline profile of ourselves. This took me a very long time and I didn't get very far (I only managed an outline of my face). I also felt like I was blabbering on unnecessarily so editing my screencastify will be another thing I'll need to learn about.

  1. Well done on your Explain Everything picture, very creative. It is a great app to explore.
I like the way you are going to teach your kids polylines and using screencastify to show them. This way they can keep rewinding if they are stuck. It is hard to keep your recording short and to the point, as teachers we are all very good at talking. Keep up the great work.

  2. Kia ora Della,

I like that you have put yourself in the shoes of your learners and created an amazing Explain Everything Project. Screencastify's can be edited. If you are just cropping them this can be done using Screencastify, or if you want to get more sophisticated you can use apps like iMovie.

    Thanks,

  3. Talofa Della,
I agree the potential of these two tools is amazing. Screencastify is so useful for teacher instructions and really worthwhile for learners to explain their learning.
Keeping it short is always a challenge! I find I often do 2-3 takes a screencastify to do it well. Good thing they are easy to do.
